Police probe reported assault by NBA player at Four Seasons [updated]

    Philadelphia police are investigating a possible sexual assault at an upscale hotel, and the Brooklyn Nets say the probe involves one of the team’s players.

    According to multiple reports, Brooklyn Nets player Andray Blatche is being questioned by authorities. Those reports are fuled by a tweet Blatche has since deleted saying he “didn’t do anything jus was n the area when it happened.”

    Officer Jillian Russell, a police spokeswoman, says the assault reportedly happened around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday in a room at the Four Seasons Hotel.

    The incident remains under investigation and Russell says no one has been charged.

    Police sources tell NewsWorks the woman is an acquaintance of the unnamed player, and that she an friends of the player are giving statements to the Special Victims Unit.

    The NBA’s Brooklyn Nets say the investigation involves a member of their team, which plays the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday night. Nets General Manager Billy King says the team will have no further comment until the investigation is concluded and that all of the team’s players will be available for Tuesday’s game.

    Police say a 21-year-old woman is being treated, but is expected to be OK.
