Police: Mom of abandoned Philadelphia baby ID’d

Philadelphia police say they have an arrest warrant for the woman they say abandoned a newborn baby in a cardboard a few days before Christmas.

Investigators say DNA evidence links 33-year-old Patricia Crawley to the little girl dubbed Baby Noel by hospital workers.

The infant was found Dec. 21 on a street in North Philadelphia. Officials say she had been born just a few hours earlier.

Capt. John Darby says officers spoke to Crawley last month but she denied any relationship with the girl. He says police didn’t have enough evidence then to take Crawley into custody but a DNA test has since linked her to the child.
