Police arrest man suspected of torching South Philadelphia playground

    Police have arrested a 26-year-old man in connection with a South Philadelphia playground fire.

    The playground at FDR Park was burned last weekend resulting in $300,000 in damages and an $11,000 reward for the cuplrit’s arrest and prosecution.
    Our partners at NBC10 report South Philly resident Kevin Beattie has been charged with arson, causing/risking a catastrophe and other related offenses.

    Last week, the Philadelphia Eagles vowed to help rebuild the playground, which sits just across Broad Street from Lincoln Financial Field.
