Today is the last day to order a discounted lawn tree from PHS

Today is the last day to purchase discounted trees from the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society’s “Plant One Million” campaign for “A Tree in Every Yard.”

Each tree, which ranges from six to eight inches and 35 to 40 pounds, costs $10. The fee also includes a hand trowel for cultivating the soil. PHS is calling all active Tree Tenders groups or anyone who has participated in their Tree Tenders course to order trees by the end of the day.

And the PHS is aiming high. The group hopes to plant one million trees throughout southeastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.

The trees can only be planted on private property, as the idea is to plant trees in yards throughout the area. Upon ordering, trees will be available for pick-up in late April or early May.
