Plans announced for major music festival in Kent County this summer

More than 40 acts including The Black Keys, The Killers and Jack White will take the stage during the three-day Firefly Music Festival coming to Dover International Speedway this summer.

Death Cab for Cutie, John Legend, and Cake are also on the roster of performers for the event taking place at the Woodlands of Dover International Speedway July 20th through July 22nd.  The festival, organized by Red Frog Events, will also feature “enhanced culinary options,” craft beer and wine gardens, hot air balloon rides and more.  “Our two NASCAR race weekends certainly put Dover on the map in the motorsports world, and this special event will now put us on the map in the music world,” Dover Motorsports Inc. Chief Operating Officer Michael Tatolan said.  The weekend will likely generate millions of dollars for the Kent County economy.  “Illuminate Dover, a Firefly program dedicated to community enhancement and beautification projects in and around Delaware’s capital city, will also have a lasting effect.  Tickets for the Firefly Music Festival go on sale this Thursday April 5th.
