Pipe dream

You didn’t think you were getting through the week without some major traffic inconvenience, did you? Lincoln Drive between Greene and McCallum streets in Mt. Airy has been closed all day, but the Philadelphia Water Department says there’s a chance it could reopen by rush hour.

Cracked frozen pipes are the likely cause of the water main break that shut the street and left 25 residents without water, Aaron Moselle reported for NewsWorks earlier.

The water department has already begun the four- to six-hour repair job. If all goes well, things will be up and running in the next couple hours.
