Phoenixville lowers parking rate by 25 cents

Phoenixville piggy banks will start to feel a littler fuller in the next week, as the council has voted to reduce the parking fee by 25 cents an hour.

The council voted 5-1 (how’d you like to be that guy?) to reduce the fees, since not many people have been making use of the meters.

As the Mercury reports, Councilman Kendrick Buckwalter voted against the change because since the meters are designed to accept credit cards and the borough is charged when parkers use plastic, the dip in price could end up costing Phoenixville money.

There’s no evidence for or against Buckwalter’s suspicions, so the fees will be reduced for now.
