Philly’s best food trucks compete for Vendy honor

Some battle for the crown, others for trophies, but on Saturday in Philadelphia, the city’s best food vendors are set to battle for the Vendy Cup.

The finalists have already been chosen, but on Saturday afternoon, you can see which food truck offers the city’s finest in mobile cuisine.

The Vendy Awards begin Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. and are scheduled to run through 7 p.m. at the Piazza at Schmidts in the Northern Liberties neighborhood.

The competition, considered a “street food showcase” and “intense cook-off” benefits the Food Trust, a local organization aiming to help provide healthy food to all.
