PhillyCarShare will keep name, lose nonprofit status under Enterprise

    PhillyCarShare will join the likes of Alamo and National when it officially announces tomorrow acquisition by Enterprise Holdings.

    Enterprise operations Alamo and National, as well, and will continue to use the PhillyCarShare name and employees when the company takes over.

    But PhillyCarShare will lose is nonprofit status.

    Jacob Smith, chairman of ths PCS board, told the Inquirer Enterprise saved the local nonprofit by assuming the smaller outlet’s assets. PSC was facing nearly $3 million in back taxes and penalties for failing to charges users a rental tax.
