Philly youth coach charged with assaulting multiple boys

A grand jury investigation has resulted in dozens of charges against a north Philadelphia youth football coach accused of sexually assaulting five boys and an intellectually disabled man.

The Philadelphia Inquirer said Tuesday that 24-year-old Leon Watson is facing 55 counts, including child rape, sexual assault, indecent exposure, terroristic threats and human trafficking.

Watson was charged in November with raping two children, both players on his neighborhood football team. In December, prosecutors added charges involving three more boys and a disabled man.

Prosecutors said Watson was in custody with bail set at $250,000. He will be formally arraigned on the charges Feb. 24.
