Philly student told to leave class for wearing Romney T-Shirt

A Philadelphia high school student said she was almost kicked out of class for wearing a t-shirt supporting Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney and running mate Paul Ryan last Friday at Charles Carroll High School in Port Richmond.”The teacher told me to get out of class, I said no,” told Samantha Pawlucy to NBC 10 news about the incident.

Pawlucy, 16, said she was embarrassed about the confrontation and that the teacher told her to remove the shirt and compared wearing the Romney shirt to wearing a shirt with KKK on it.

The teacher has since apologized and said she was only joking with the student.

WHYY’s Emma Jacob’s will have more on the school incident later today.
