Philly Spring Cleanup projects sprout up across the city

Looks like the skies are cooperating for the annual Philly Spring Cleanup. After taking project submissions from residents, the cleanup sites have been designated and volunteers have grabbed their shovels and trash bags.

Nearly 250 sites are tapped for a little TLC.

Led by churches, businesses, nonprofits and private citizens, 248 cleanup locations have been designated throughout the city based on suggestions from the people in our neighborhoods who could probably tell us exactly what items of trash we can expect to find at the various playgrounds, lots and business corridors tapped for a scrubbing.
