The Arcana New Music Ensemble is a performance group formed this year by Philadelphia experimental arts organization, Bowerbird. This Saturday, it will present “Samuel Beckett: Words and Music” by composer Morton Feldman at the Fleischer Art Memorial.

The composition was written to accompany a radio play by Beckett. For this live staging, Bowerbird struck a collaboration of its own by joining forces with the Pig Iron Theater Company.

Dan Rothenberg, co-founder and co-artistic director of Pig Iron Theater Company, and Dustin Hurt, founder and director of Bowerbird, joined NewsWorks Tonight’s Dave Heller to shed some light on the artists behind the script and score.
