Philly lawyer gets 2 years for stealing $500,000 from clients

A former Philadelphia lawyer has been sentenced to two years in prison after admitting he took $500,000 from clients to cover personal expenses and debts.

Prosecutors say lawyer Gomer Williams III took the money from four clients of his former firm, Spector Gadon & Rosen.

The sentencing Monday comes after the 54-year-old Williams pleaded guilty to federal wire fraud. He must also pay restitution.

Authorities say Williams was a trustee or executor of the client accounts.
