Philly housing advocate, former vice presidential candidate, launches shadow cabinet

    Cheri Honkala, a long-time Philly housing advocate, former city sheriff candidate and former vice presidential candidate, helped unveil the Green Shadow Cabinet Monday afternoon.

    She’s launching the effort with her presidential running mate, Jill Stein.”The Cabinet will operate in the tradition of shadow cabinets in other countries, such as the United Kingdom and France,” a description of the cabinet reads, “responding to actions of the government in office, and demonstrating that another government is possible.”

    The cabinet is made up of more than 80 scientists, community and labor leaders, physicians, cultural workers, and veterans. Monday’s unveiling coincides with Earth Day.
