Philly cop charged with raping woman in squad car
Four-year Philadelphia police officer Keith Corley II is charged with rape, indecent assault and related offenses in the case of a woman who told police she was raped in the back of his squad car.
The Associated Press is reporting that the 32-year-old woman said she accepted a ride from Corley, who was on duty, when she was waiting for a bus in West Philadelphia on August 11.
The Philadelphia Inquirer and the Daily News are reporting that, before he dropped her off at her destination at the 69th Street Terminal, Corley drove her to an area of Cobbs Creek near Cedar Avenue and assaulted her.
Corley, 27, has been suspended with intent to dismiss. The Inquirer also notes that Corley is the 33rd police officer to be arrested since 2009, the third this month, and the second this week.
