Philadelphians dress up to watch royal wedding

Ah, America, home of the free. Where our founders fought for the very freedom that makes it OK to celebrate the wedding of a couple whose own founding fathers we won that freedom from.

Hopeless romantics gathered this morning at the Rittenhouse Hotel in Philadelphia to watch the royal wedding of Britain’s Prince William and his now-bride Kate Middleton.

Dressed in fancy dresses, flowered hats and suits, women and men filled the hotel’s ballroom to watch a live broadcast of the wedding while enjoying an English breakfast, the Associated Press reports. Some even wore tiaras.
