Philadelphia public and parochial schools to close early due to heat warning

Remember those days when you went to school no matter what the temperature? The teacher turned the lights off to pretend that actually made it cooler as you longed for your air-conditioned house.

Yea, well, it’s 2011 and those days are over. The School District of Philadelphia has announced an early dismissal due to the heat warning. Schools will let out at 1:30 p.m., as will all Archdiocese of Philadelphia schools in the city. Suburban schools are not affected.

Transportation will be provided as normal for all students.
