Philadelphia Police release footage of West Oak Lane shooting

Philadelphia Police have released video footage of a December shooting in which a 28-year-old man was criticially injured while sitting in a car near the intersection of 19th Street and 72nd Avenue in West Oak Lane.

The incident occured just after 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 27, 2011. According to police, “an unknown male approaches and enters the vehicle, a short time later the male exits the vehicle. A second male then approaches and enters the vehicle, produces a handgun, and fires several shots critically injuring the complainant. After shooting the complainant, both suspects fled the area on foot south toward Dallas Street.”

The suspects are described as two black males wearing dark-colored hoodies, no age estimate available. One has a dark complexion and heavy build while the other was described as thin.

Police ask anyone with information about the shooting, from which the victim did not die, to call 911, (215) 686-8477 or (215) 686-3353/54. Anonymous tips can also be submitted online.
