Philadelphia officers accused in drug plot will appear in court today

    Two former police officers will appear in court today for a change-of-plea hearing in charges stemming from a plot to steal heroin from a drug dealer.

    Robert Snyder and James Venziale are two of three former officers accused of helping two other men steal from a drug dealer during a staged traffic stop for a cut of the profits.

    The Associated Press and Daily News report Snyder is expected to plead guilty. Venziale’s attorney has not commented.
