Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney endorses Hillary Clinton
Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney has endorsed Hillary Clinton for president, citing a shared progressive vision.
Kenney made the announcement Tuesday as the city gears up to host the Democratic National Convention this summer.
The Democrat says Clinton “has the heart, strength and depth of knowledge and experience to unite our nation and lead us during these troubled times.”
He says he shares Clinton’s quest to tear down barriers that deny opportunity to so many Americans.
Clinton has taken the lead in the competition for Democratic delegates, but rival Bernie Sanders is vowing to fight on.
The next contest between the two Democrats is the South Carolina primary on Saturday.
Pennsylvania’s Democratic primary election is on April 26.
