Philadelphia man, Delaware woman, charged in baby sale scheme
A Philadelphia man and a New Castle County woman have been charged with conspiracy and dealing in children after the man agreed to buy the woman’s baby.
WHYY’s Mark Eichmann reports police have been able to confirm reports that came last month from the woman’s family, alleging the 33-year-old had plans to sell her newborn for $15,000. Evidence linked the 54-year-old Philadelphia man to the crime, and the child is now in foster care.
