Philadelphia hospice nurses arrested for Medicare fraud

    Five hospice nurses from the Philadelphia area have been arrested in connection with a Medicare fraud scheme.

    Patricia McGill, director of professional services at Home Care Hospice Inc. in Northeast Philadelphia, is charged with overseeing the admission of inappropriate and ineligible patients, according to the Philadelphi Business Journal.
    Natalya Shvets, Giorgi Oqroshidze, Yevgeniya Goltman and Alexsandr Koptyakov also faces health fraud counts in the scheme that reached $9.32 million between January 2005 and December 2008.

    The co-owner and hospice director were charged in a separate indictment.
