Philadelphia Police launch crackdown on ATVs, dirt bikes

NewsWorks content partner NBC10 reported Monday night that the Philadelphia Police Department is seeking the public’s help to crackdown on illegal ATVs and dirt bikes which often become hazards on city streets, including those in Germantown.

“The biggest challenge, and everyone knows, is that we don’t chase them,” Philadelphia Police Lieutenant Ray Evers told NBC10. “The information that we’re trying to get from the public is where these ATV’s are being stored. Do you know a location? Maybe there’s some backwoods or someone’s backyard.”

Police ask anyone who sees illegal dirt bikes or ATVs riding in their area to text “PPDTIP” or email tips@PhillyPolice.com.

The full report can be viewed on NBC10’s website.
