PHA workers ordered to return expensive luggage

Philadelphia Housing Authority employees will no longer be traveling in style. Interim Director Michael Kelly has ordered employees who were given $800 bags by former director Carl Greene to hand them over to the PHA.

Heard in the Hall reports Greene gave the luggage to about 20 employees during a conference last year. The bags will be taken to Nordstrom, where Greene purchased them, and the store will determine if it can take them back.

Employees will also have the chance to buy their bags as a depreciated price. All the money will go directly to the PHA general funds.
