Petersen resigns as Atlantic City Public Safety Director

Christine Petersen has resigned from her post as Atlantic City’s public safety director following allegations of overstepping her boundaries and a ruling on her enrollment in the state Police and Firemen’s Retirement System.

The Press of Atlantic City reports Petersen’s letter of resignation mentioned the state pension board’s ruling that she must re-enroll in the PFRS. Petersen took her job in Atlantic City before the six-month gap required from her retirement from the Jersey City Police Department.

Her last day of work is Friday.
