Perusing the sounds of ‘The Quiet Volume’ at Philly Free Library [video]

“The Quiet Volume” is an audio intensive work of “autoteatro” (audience performed theater) happening at the Philadelphia Free Library’s Central Branch.

Artist collaborators Ant Hampton and Tim Etchells enlist two volunteers to wear headphones and sit in one of the library’s reading rooms.

Recorded whispers give instructions and the participants begin a journey through works of literature, art, and sound.
