Pennsylvania SPCA encourages pet owners to protect their animals from the heat

Animal lovers, take note. Summer has come calling, and it’s important to keep Fido or Fluffy safe from the high temperatures in our area, according the Pennsylvania SPCA. 

“Every year during the hot months, our Humane Law Enforcement Department receives numerous calls about animals being left outside without adequate shelter or water or being left in hot cars all alone,” said Susan Cosby, CEO of the Pennsylvania SPCA, in a release.

The SPCA wants you to know that just like it’s not OK to leave your kid in the car, outside in the sun or alone by a pool, your pets need the same consideration.

Keep fresh water handy, make sure there is some shade around if your dog wants to frolick outside and don’t take for granted that your dog knows the doggie paddle.
