Pennsylvania Horticultural Society arborist earns ‘True Professional’ recognition

Casey Combs is a True Professional, and yes, that’s a proper noun. The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society arborist has earned the “True Professional” distinction from the International Society of Arboriculture.

He was honored yesterday at a ceremony in Sydney, Australia.

Combs is credited for PHS projects like Philly Tree Map, which lets users track and map trees around the city. He secured a federal grant for the project to eliminate the cost to the city, and has also led the Plant One Million project to help increase the tree canopy around Philadelphia and other Pennsylvania counties.

Six others have been named True Professionals this year, an honor bestowed upon “arborists and tree care professionals for their positive impact on the industry in and around their communities.”
