Pennsauken-sauce-plant to close and lay off 146 employees

    The home of Francesco Rinaldi spagetti sauce is closing –Well, one of the homes.

    LiDestri Foods, Inc.’s Pennsauken plant is closing July 22nd and laying off 146 workers, according to a report in the Wilmington News Journal. The company owns three other plants in New York and California, and will shutter the Pennsauken location in an effort to consolidate operations in Rochester, N.Y.

    LiDestri says it will work with Pennsauken and the state to help find job opportunities for those facing layoff, and to find a new use for the 13-acre Pennsauken plant.
