PECO offers new mobile optimized outage information

Listen

PECO has unveiled a new website that’s tailored for the smartphone user.

Ben Armstrong of PECO said the new site offers smartphone users a way to track outages with real time updates and more specifics.

“Including the cause of the outage, if a crew is currently dispatched and working to restore service, as well as the time of restoration for when we expect service will be restored,” he said.

No specific app is needed to find the information.

“Customers can access the new site from their mobile device by typing in PECO.com from their browser,” he said. “The browser will automatically go to the mobile enhanced website, but if you are on a desktop you can go to PECO.com and access our new outage map in the outage center of our website.”

The upgrades are part of an overhaul of the utility’s customer service operation.
