Parents allege cover-up in underage drinking incident at Montgomery County prom

Upper Merion police and Pennsylvania State Troopers have offered little information about an incident Saturday night at the Methacton High School. But parents are alleging a cover-up in the night that ended with student citations, suspensions and DUIs.

Parents have tipped off the Times Herald to what they say was a party bus hired by a mother and filled with intoxicated students who arrived at the Valley Forge Convention Center for their big night. Authorities have been tight-lipped, and parents want answers.

The Pottstown Mercury has video of a mother and her high-schooler son who say the alleged minor penalties for the student aren’t doing anyone any favors. They’re calling for harsher punishment. Can’t image that student is popular in school right now.

The school district says it can’t comment on student punishment and has not confirmed or denied whether it was underage drinking that drew police to the prom.
