PA National Guardsman killed in Afghanistan laid to rest

    A National Guardsman from Pennsylvania was laid to rest on Saturday after he was killed near Bagram, Afghanistan.

    According to The Mercury, Sgt. Ed Koehler was killed when a roadside bomb exploded as he was transporting supplies.

    Pottstown Police dispatcher Michele Labant, was also injured in the explosion.  Labant is also a member of the National Guard.

    Koehler served in the Marine Corps from 1982 to 1988 before enlisting with the Pennsylvania National Guard in 1997.
