Overnight blaze rips through oceanfront home
One house was destroyed and three others were damaged in a fire that sparked in coastal Ocean County around midnight Thursday, authorities say.
The fire along the oceanfront near Trenton Avenue in Lavallette drew firefighters from departments on both the barrier island and mainland.
Crews from the East Dover Fire Company in Toms River say they spotted the fire’s glow from the bridge spanning the Barnegat Bay.

Fire officials say responding firefighters found a fully involved structure and launched an aggressive attack to keep the fire from spreading to adjacent structures.
The blaze was brought under control more than three hours after it sparked, according to the East Dover Fire Company.
No injuries were reported. The fire remains under investigation.
