Out-of-county jury for man accused of Souderton girl’s murder

James Lee Troutman’s attorney has been granted his request for an out-of-county jury in Troutman’s murder trial.

The Souderton man is accused of raping and killing 9-year-old Skyler Kauffman last spring. PhillyBurbs reports jurors from York County will be bused into Montgomery County for the trial proceedings.
The defense attorney called for the distanced jury because of the case’s high profile, and prosecutors did not oppose the request. A judge has already denied a request to dismiss the murder charges against Troutman, who has pleaded not guilty and faces the death penalty if convicted.
