Out in force

In response to a series of attacks and murders in the Kensington area, a group of Guardian Angels will be on the streets beginning today to provide escorts and try to uncover information on the crimes to turn over to the police, according to a CBS Philly report.

“A lot of women out there are in need of escorts,” said Curtis Sliwa, the group’s founder. “The police have neither the time nor the personnel to do that, but we certainly do. And that’s where we think we can make our best contribution.”

Sliwa says there’s no greater feeling than walking someone safely from point A to point B.

“We dare to care. We’ll risk life and limb for people we don’t even know.”
