Oswalt leaves Phillies to tend to family during tornadoes

Roy Oswalt has left the Phillies indefinitely as he heads home to Mississippi to check on his family. Oswalt’s wife and children are there in the middle of several devastating tornadoes, similar to the one that destroyed his parents’ house last year, CSNPhilly reports.

General Manager Ruben Amaro assures fans Oswalt is not hurt, but it’s not clear if the pitcher will be back in time for his start next Tuesday.
