Orchard Project hopes for fruitful results in West and Southwest Philadelphia

What if there were fruit and nut trees on the streets of Southwest and West Philly? Sounds unusual for city streets, but a collaborative effort could make it a strange reality.
West Philly Local reports UC Green and the Philadelphia Orchard Project are teaming up to raise money to bring fruit- and nut-bearing trees to the area. The goal is to plant 100 trees by fall for passersby to enjoy, but the trees reportedly won’t create a mess on the streets.
