One dead, four wounded in N.J. birthday party shooting

One man was killed and four people were wounded when shots rang out at a central New Jersey home during a teenager’s birthday party.

It’s not yet clear what sparked the shooting, which occurred late Friday night in Hamilton Township.

Mercer County prosecutors say an 18-year-old man was shot to death, while a 17-year-old boy was hospitalized in critical but stable condition with wounds to the torso, arms, leg and groin.

Two others males — ages 17 and 18 — were shot in the legs, while the other victim was hit in the calf. All three were treated at a hospital and later released.

Authorities say dozens of people attended the party, which was being held for a 15-year-old. But further details on the shootings weren’t disclosed.
