    Philadelphia officials are urging fathers to take their kids to their first day of school Today. The 5th annual Million Father March is an event that takes place in more than 400 cities across the country.

    The event is organized locally by the House of Imoja, a group that works to prevent youth violence. Mayor Michael Nutter says fathers should do all they can to take their kids to school every day.

    Nutter: If there is a way to have fathers work out with their employers or others the opportunity to be able to take their child to school, any day, or as many days as possible that would really help their children and this entire city.

    Nutter says dads should also become engaged in their child’s education and join the home and school associations.
