Can’t get enough of texting? Join the DCCA as we take the text off the screen and onto the canvas during this linguistic teen workshop. Students will work with DCCA Teaching Artist Alex Spinney to turn language into graphically cool works of art using painting, printmaking, and photography. Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts, October 13th, 1 P.M.

Selling an estimated 40 million records over their 40 year career, the legendary Doobie Brothers’ propulsive roots-based, harmony laden, guitar driven style has produced such hits as “Taking It to the Streets,” “China Grove,” and “Listen to the Music.” The Grand, October 18th,  8 P.M.

Witness firsthand the true stories of murders and encounter characters whose legends have left their sinister imprint on The Green. Meet at the John Bell House on The Green. Art in the Yard celebrates numerous artists and a variety of mediums by putting them on display in front of the gallery. Visitors are invited to come speak with the artists as well as enjoy light refreshments. This event coincides with the Rehoboth Jazz Festival. Heidi Lowe Gallery, October 13th, 11 A.M.
