Occupy Philly vs. Philly Media – on tape

There was an interesting exchange Friday between reporters and participants of the Occupy Philadelphia movement at the end of an Occupy news conference on Friday.

WHYY’s Elizabeth Fiedler, who provided the audio above, said the give-and-take happened after Occupy protesters accused the media of under-reporting police violence in events surrounding the clearing of Dilworth Plaza.

When reporters told participants they could only report what they observed, they got a good scolding about how to do their jobs.

In posting this audio, I’ve boosted the volume of reporters’ comments, which were off-mike, so you can better understand the exchange.
