Occupy Philly publishes first community newsletter

Occupy Philly’s first newsletter is hot off the presses. Issue I of Occupy Philly Base Camp News came out today, free of charge.

The double-sided 8.5 x 11 newsletter has updates on Safety, Working Group meetings, food schedules and the weather, as well as submissions from occupiers about why they’re camping out at City Hall.

Though small, the newsletter also has an “Occupy the World” section, which today includes a contribution from the Portland, Maine, team, detailing the aftermath of an IED explosion at the camp.

Most of the contributions in Issue I come from “teams” a the camp — Media Team, Home Team, etc. Save for the safety update from “Rainbow,” the other stories have first and last names attached to them, and emails for reader submissions.
