NWS: Additional minor tidal flooding “unlikely”

After a few high tide cycles of minor tidal flooding, additional flooding is not likely, according to the National Weather Service.

Jersey Shore Hurricane News (JSHN) contributors reported minor tidal flooding in Sea Isle City Tuesday morning and Sea Bright, Highlands, and Union Beach Tuesday night. Flooding occurred in areas that typically flood, they said.

On Monday, the service warned about minor tidal flooding in vulnerable low-lying areas.

As of Wednesday morning, there have been sporadic reports of minor beach erosion but none of ocean breaches. Bill McKim of McKim Photography and the Facebook page “Belmar Beach NJ” shot the image above of rough seas off Belmar Wednesday morning.
