No plans to abandon Chester County stadium plan despite dissolved alliance

There’s no funding, and the Turks Head Alliance has dissolved. But in spite of it all, members of the former alliance remain hopeful that West Chester will one day host a baseball stadium. Well, at least we know the cheerleaders are already lined up.

Dick Yoder, former borough mayor and the Turks Head Alliance founder, told the West Chester Daily Local the effort is “suspended,” but hope remains.

The idea was all but scrapped late last year when a $14 million Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program grant fell through.

Yoder says he’ll look at other site and private funding as ways to bring a stadium in, but says his goal all along was to get residents excited about the prospect of a stadium.

If the article comments are any reflection of the general borough publication, no one is excited.
