No food-serving permit for Delaware’s ‘Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’ charity

A Sussex County panel  last night denied a permit for the Jusst Sooup Ranch to serve food out of its recently renovated property.

Rev. Dale Dunning recently appeared on ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition to have the charitable property rebuilt to serve food to the homeless between Lewes and Georgetown in Delaware.

But the panel stuck with county law, which bars restaurants from the permit process. The Wilmington News Journal reports had the family not been up against the tight building deadlines, Jusst Sooup might have had better luck applying for conditional use or a zoning change.

ABC will air the Juust Sooup episode Nov. 18.
