NJSPCA adds first ever forensic veterinarian

The position “forensic veterinarian” may seem like something you might see on a primetime television show, but the NJSPCA will tell you otherwise, after adding the position to its staff.

The Associated Press reports Dr. Ernest Rogers is joining the animal rights group as its first ever “forensic veterinarian.”

The new addition will help the group to investigate animal abuses and solve crimes against animals.

Animal welfare officials tell the Associated Press veterinary forensics and animal crime scene investigations are growing specialities in veterinary medicine.
