N.J.’s 3rd medical marijuana prepares to open

New Jersey’s third medical marijuana dispensary is accepting patients.

Garden State Dispensary in Woodbridge is slated to open before the end of the year.Patients and caregivers must register to use the facility and patients can only be enrolled at one facility at a time.

The state Health Department says there are 1,500 patients and caregivers registered with the program at alternative treatment centers in Montclair and Egg Harbor.

New Jersey legalized medical marijuana in 2010. But the program has been slow in growing.
