Nj Transit partnering with Google for smartphone payments

For some NJ Transit customers, payments are about to get easier.

The transportation agency has announced a partnership with Google Wallet for a free mobile app that enables wireless data transmissions between to objects. In this case, those objects are a smartphone and NJ Transit’s ticket purchase system.

The Associated Press reports the phone-swiping payment system will roll out at New York’s Penn Station and Newark’s Air Tran station, plus some bus routes.
