N.J. town’s Zombie Walk a record-breaker

They play the undead.

But that doesn’t mean people in a Jersey shore town aren’t competitive.

Some 9,592 people in Asbury Park broke the Guinness World Records for the largest gathering of zombies in the city’s sixth annual Zombie Walk Saturday. The event had held the world record until it was broken by 8,027 zombies in Minneapolis last year.

Guinness adjudicator Michael Empric tells the Asbury Park Press the costumes were amazing and most people went above and beyond.
